Hampshire County in 1888

ranmc-88.gif - Map 1888
This map of Hampshire County is from an 1888 editon of a Rand-McNally Atlas of the World. It shows that the B&O Railroad had just reached Romney, the county seat, but not continued further south toward Moorefield. Also note that communities with "ville" in their name, which we now know as single words are shown as two words such as Slanes Ville with the "ville" abbreviated. "Delray" is just to the north-west of Mutton Run, but the name is obscured by the mountain. Capon Bridge is called "Cacapon Bridge".
