CAUDY (James) GRAVESITE, Capon Bridge, WV.

Located about .3 miles along the Cacapon River Rd. on private property, on what is known as the buffalo or llama farm. This is the gravesite of one of the first settlers of Hampshire County. It is said that James Caudy predates Fort Edwards of Capon Bridge WV. Located in Hampshire Co., is Caudy's Castle, which is named after him. Caudy fought 15 Indians at the Caudy Castle location. The fence around the gravesite was donated & built by several members of the Capon Bridge Ruritan.
