Fahs Cemetery of Hampshire County, WV

FAHS FAMILY CEMETERY, near Augusta, WV.

Lat:39°19.651N; Lon:078°33.150W.

Location 3.5 miles south of Slanesville on Rt. 29, then east 1.4 miles on Rt. 45/12, cemetery 720ft. north of highway. This cemetery no longer exists. As told by a neighbor to where the cemetery once stood, when he was a child in the 50s, he remembers people coming and plowing over the cemetery and pushing all the grave markers up against a tree. Today the markers are no longer there, but the tree sits in a little grove behind the house. I only list one person at this cemetery; there is more, but not sure how many.

Philip Fahs, born Oct 1, 1760, died Jun 20, 1848.
